Wedding Planning Tips You Might Not Have Considered – Megan Noll Photography
When my friends get engaged, there are certain things I tell each of them. These are the wedding planning tips you might not have considered and I have found them to be true in all circumstances!
I have found that most brides get so overwhelmed feeling like they have to do everything themselves. Don’t fall into that trap. Yes, the wedding does need your personal touch. Remember though, that your friends and family are probably eager to help. I always suggest delegating tasks that you aren’t as excited about to your fiancé or to a helpful friend. Ask your fiancé to get pricing information from bands. Put your friend in graphic design to work on designing your save-the-dates!
Especially with long engagements, it can be really helpful to wait to invite your bridesmaids and groomsmen to be apart of your bridal party. Speaking from experience, I became really good friends with a girl (who is now one of my best friends) after I had already asked my bridal party. I wish more than anything that I could have included her in our day. My story isn’t unique – I see a lot of times where bridesmaids or groomsmen have grown apart by the time the wedding rolls around and the interaction can feel forced on the wedding day.
Don’t get sucked into Pinterest! For me, I loved looking at color palettes and flowers, centerpieces and other design elements. Once I had pinned 15 million bouquets, I then realized I hadn’t even started on the craziness that was planning the guest list. In retrospect, I would have done the stuff I was least excited about first, so I could reward myself with dreaming about peonies and garden roses, or whatever it is that gets you excited!
I hope these wedding planning tips that you might not have considered were super helpful! Happy Planning! Check back next week for your guest list cheat sheet!
