I always talk about how much I love my job. I have go-to jokes (because I act like an 80 year old man most of the time) and one of them is “Hey, I get to eat wedding cake every weekend…can’t beat that!”

That definitely is a joke, because I don’t really like cake, but I digress.

The real reason I love my job so much is because I love marriage. Being with people on one of the happiest days of their life is a perk, but the excitement I feel for my couples is unexplainable.

I knew I loved Brian when I married him, but I didn’t know how awesome marriage was. Because of that, when I am at a wedding, I feel like I’m watching someone open a really awesome gift. Even if I know what is in the box, I’m excited for them to see what their gift is, how they react, and how they will cherish it.

Marrying Brian was the best thing I have ever done. You know when you had your best friend sleepover as a kid, and in the morning you’d be SO disappointed that their parents had to come get them? Marriage is like a sleepover every night! We talk, we giggle, we dream about the future, we watch movies, we play games and sometimes we cook. (Admittedly, there is a lot less nail painting than other sleepovers 😉 )

So when I respond to inquiries with “I’m SO excited to hear from you!”, I mean it. I am excited for you, and excited to be there with you. I’m excited to see where this journey takes you!
