There’s something so timeless about downtown Houston. Between the modern architecture, the twinkle of city lights, and the endless energy in the air, it’s one of my favorite spots for Houston engagement pictures. Recently, I had the joy of photographing Carly + Timothy, and their session couldn’t have been more them.

We started their engagement shoot wandering through downtown Houston, weaving between iconic city backdrops and hidden little corners that gave their photos so much variety. The way the light reflected off the glass buildings as the sun set created such a romantic glow — the city truly showed off for them.

But my favorite part of the session was when we stopped at their favorite sushi spot, the place where they’ve had countless date nights together. Instead of rushing through, they sat down, ordered a drink, and laughed like no one else was around. Those moments — genuine, unscripted, and joyful — are the ones that always make engagement pictures feel so special. Houston’s downtown scene gave us the perfect mix of energy and intimacy.
