New Year Resolution

Posted in: For Photographers, Personal

After several friends have commented on the “big” personality I have, they have followed with a simple question: “Why don’t you blog more?” Besides the fact that I often times feel like my science degree killed my ability to write with a personality, the bigger issue is that I didn’t think people cared what I had to say.

More than a few new photographers have been asking my for my opinions on camera gear, how I shoot, how I got into Wedding Photography. What? When did I become qualified to answer them? But as I sat in another coffee shop, with another aspiring photographer, rattling on about my approach to wedding photography, I realized something. I have learned everything I know, because others shared with me their knowledge.

So this is it: my annoucement. This is my New Year resolution (a month late isn’t bad, right?) is to blog. Not just about the gorgeous couples I work with, but about my life, my business, and sharing advice that I have learned that has helped me to be a better photographer. I don’t have the answers to everything, and won’t pretend to. But just as my momma told me when I was growing up, “You can ask me anything, and if I don’t have the answer, I will do my best to find someone who does.”
