A few years ago, I realized there were certain things I felt like I was constantly typing – my mailing address, Instagram hashtags, website URL, and my email address, to name a few.
If you cringe at the thought of typing out your full mailing address, I’m about to change your life.
Two words. Text Replacement.
Everyone knows your phones have built in autocorrect, that turns shortcuts like “OMW” to “On my way”, but did you know that you could input these values on your own? I have an iPhone, so I can only explain how to do it on there – sorry androids!
1. Go to settings
2. Click “General”
3. Choose “Keyboard”
4. Click “Text Replacement”
5. From here, hit the addition sign in the upper right hand corner and add your own!
This little life hack saves me SO much time. When I type “myadd”, my phone autocorrects with my full mailing address typed out. When I type “hash”, my phone autocorrects with a list of my usual hashtag’s I use to market on Instagram. When I type “ww”, my website URL pops up and with “pp”, my email address appears.
My biggest piece of advice is to not use shortcuts for letter combinations you use frequently. Once, I tried to use “ST” as a short cut, and every time I tried to type a church address that had Saint in the title, it would change it – it was pretty frustrating and got changed really quickly 🙂
