A revelation on dressing for pictures and maybe even for bridesmaids dresses

Dressing for pictures can be scary! Do you try to make something in your closet work or do you risk breaking the bank on a new outfit? What if you could just rent something awesome?!

Likewise, choosing your bridesmaid dresses is a huge decision. In fact, I’d say figuring out what my bridesmaids would wear was one of the more stressful decisions I had to make for my planning my wedding. That might sound silly, but hear me out. There are a lot of things to consider! What would look good on everyone? What color do I want to go with? What style? What material do I like? What is the normal price for a dress?

That last question really concerned me the most. I felt bad asking my bridesmaids to shell out hundreds of dollars for a dress they’d probably never wear again. All of the dresses I liked were really expensive, but I wanted my girls to look awesome. Ever heard the phrase “Champagne taste on a beer budget”? uhm, hi!

That is exactly why I wish so badly that I would have known about Rent The Runway when I was a bride.

Disclaimer: I have not tried to rent bridesmaid dresses. This article is directed more toward brides that are more adventurous, because (obviously) there is a lot more that could go wrong with bridesmaids dresses coming in a week before the wedding. I HAVE rented awesome dresses for different events, and definitely recommend it for engagement sessions or other picture opportunities!
