Everyone wants the best bridal party pictures. Besides hiring a photographer who’s style you love, here are 3 tips you can use to make sure you get the best bridal party pictures!
1. Start with an even number of bridesmaids and an even number of groomsmen
Whenever my clients tell me they are having 4, 6, or 8 people on each side, I seriously get so excited. Odd numbers make the bride and groom off centered in pictures, and cause the pictures to look really lop-sided. Even numbers make your eye go right to the bride and groom, so it’s a safe bet to make your pictures gorgeous!
If you’ve ever taken selfies after wine night with your bestie, and had “drunk eyes”, you know exactly where I am going with this. Not only do you want to avoid sleepy looking eyes, but it can be really hard to get a large group of people to pay attention and cooperate, especially when copious amounts of alcohol is involved. I know, I know. Total buzz kill, but you will thank me when you get your pictures back! 🙂
Cell phone outlines in groomsmen pockets can make your eye twitch. It’s one of those things that you don’t notice until you do, and then that’s all you can see. When they add in keys, a wallet, a pack of gum, and a bridesmaid’s lip gloss, their pockets are bulging so much that their pants look short. A good idea is to have them empty their pockets on the limo or bus. If there is something essential needed – put it in the back pocket.
