Matt swore for years he would never get married, according to his brother Bill. Even after that phase had passed, he conceded that he MIGHT get married. His rule was that it had to be something super small on a beach in Mexico – elopement style.

What Matt didn’t know at that time is that he would soon meet the girl that would change it all and that a Hotel Covington Wedding was in his future. Kelly is the type of girl that is game for anything – from spontaneous traveling, to epic twenty mile hikes and has a simple classic chic style that would make anyone swoon. So when the two of them met at a training for work in Phoenix, it was fate interceding.

He asked her on a date, and she hopped on a plane and flew to Dallas to meet up with him. Within the week, they both knew they would get married one day. After two years of dating long distance, she packed up her world and moved to Dallas to be with the man she loves most in the world.

Kelly and Matt chose to have a Hotel Covington Wedding. This was the first wedding I have shot at Hotel Covington, and let me say, it did not disappoint. The venue has a wonderful mix of industrial and contemporary charm.

That charm is what Kelly and Matt tried to play on throughout their decorations. I guess you could say scouring Cincinnati, Indianapolis, and Dallas for brass candlesticks paid off, because the tablescapes were to die for.

It was incredibly important for me to document not only the love between Kelly and Matt, but also the love between Kelly and her father. Just a few days before the wedding, Kelly’s father suffered a heart attack. Needless to say, having him at Hotel Covington for his daughters wedding was something everyone was incredibly grateful for. This image is from the first time he saw Kelly in her wedding dress.
